11 JUNE 2008 - BRIDGEWATER HALL, MANCHESTER
Welcome once again to TMAP 2008 – The Third Annual Traffic Management and Parking Conference for what has now become the UK’s most prestigious and topical event surrounding the Traffic Management and Parking industry.
Last year’s event was a resounding success and attracted great media interest and there followed shortly after a major announcement from Manchester City Council on their adoption of the Congestion Charge.
For this reason, we have decided to hold the event yet again in Manchester while drawing on the experience of transport professionals across the country. The venue again will be at the Bridgewater Hall, but this time within the Symphony Hall, which is where the Labour Party Conference was held earlier this year.
Also this year, Manchester City Council will be taking a more strategic role in developing some of the themes for TMAP2008 that will encompass some of the plans for the City – not just in terms of the Congestion Charge but also around innovations in Parking and Traffic Management.
The response from last year was overall very positive and taking into account the feedback from delegates, there will be an even greater focus on Transport Innovation Fund, Climate Change and best practice case studies at a local level. You are welcome to submit any ideas you might have for speaking at the event and we will judge each submission on a case by case basis.
We would like you ,as a delegate, to take more ownership of the themes and content for the event so that we can deliver a more interactive experience for the audience!
With regards to those of you who registered late – of which there were many – we have listened to your worries and have decided to double the size of the conference this year to 500 delegates.
Yet again TMAP 2008 conference will draw attendance from over 500 leading traffic management and parking professionals from all over the UK. Speakers representing industry, government policy makers, as well as academic scholars and researchers from the traffic management industry will present and discuss the latest topics in contemporary and prospective traffic issues, focusing on strategies, experiences and techniques with regards to the delivery of the Traffic Management Bill.
This Conference delivers the most up-to-date information for government and industry professionals, and also provides opportunity for CEOs, industry leaders, managers, academics, and government officials to exchange ideas on technology trends and best practices.
As always, we extend a warm welcome to all our colleagues in the industry who share our interest in improving traffic management and easing congestion.
